The Human Development Foundation Forum’s Monitoring and Evaluation for Development Results training is just around the corner and I would like to personally extend an invitation to you on behalf of HDFF!. HDFF's 5-day Monitoring and Evaluation for Development Results will teach the participants from non-profit organizations and government ministries the most widely used M&E tools and methods accepted by major donors such as USAID, DFID, and UN agencies among others.

Training Objectives:

  1. To learn the concept of monitoring projects and its objectives, procedures, and how it applies to project development(s) and to be able to apply the principles and tools of evaluation to donor-funded projects.
  2. To help you better understand the Organization's goal and improve current and future management of outputs, outcomes and impact(s).
  3. Embed the performance objectives into your current appraisal / performance review system and use steps 2 – 4 to manage your project’s performance.
  4. To create and utilize a problem tree, an objective tree, and a budget as methods to manage and measure project outputs

Germany: Ebola Treatment and Management - pre-deployment training

The new two-day, first level pre-deployment Ebola training course is available for all medical and non-medical humanitarian aid workers preparing an assignment in the countries affected by the Ebola outbreak. The training offers an initial insight into the characteristics of Ebola virus disease and the current outbreak, as well as the management of an Ebola Treatment Centre. A strong focus is put on practical exercises with personal protective equipment (dress and undress) and barrier nursing.

The exercises take place in an Ebola Treatment Unit replica set up to mirror real-life conditions in West Africa. The course language is English. Please visit www.ebolatraining.org for more infor­mation and registration, or contact info@ebolatraining.org.

The primary purpose of the two-day Ebola: Management and Training pre-deployment course is to ensure that field workers have sufficient knowledge of how to provide care to Ebola patients and ensure their own personal safety. The course is based on the syllabus of trainings developed by Médecins Sans Frontières and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).

The course is being offered once per week Mondays and Tuesdays til early December 2014. Courses will continue in 2015, depending on requests.

Humanitarian workers are frequently required to operate in high-risk, hostile, and unstable environments. Without practical training, aid workers lack the practical skills to protect themselves, colleagues, and beneficiaries from violence and accidents. As a result, not only is a comprehensive HEAT training course recommended for all staff members working in such conditions, many insurers actually require it in order to provide coverage in the event of an emergency. The training is co-certified by the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) (http://www.ait.ac.th/).

Course Objectives – participants will learn how to:

  • Recognize and avoid UXO/IED’s/land mines;
  • Prevent and respond to fires in the field;
  • Survive a kidnapping and hostage incident from abduction to release/rescue by force;
  • Apply life-saving techniques in a remote field environment;

The Human Development Forum Foundation (HDFF) would like to inform you about 5 days outdoor field training workshop on Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) to be held in Naresuan Camp, Huahin Thailand from 26 - 30 November 2018.The training is being organized to improve participants’ skills in hostile environment, following international regulations in these settings. The training will be conducted by experienced and culturally sensitive facilitators in an utmost participatory way and has in its core a 3 day field exercise.

The main role of the training workshop is to improve safety and security related staff’s knowledge of multiple threats in hostile field environment and shows ways how to cope with these, how to manage situations and stress once caught in these situation, e.g. checkpoint behavior, ambush/active active shooter, hostile crowds, kidnapping, rescue by force. And this will able to act as a TEAM-member in hostile environment and stressful situations.
